The curriculum at Montana Skin Academy emphasizes every aspect of our students’ intellectual growth and personal development. Our small class size ensures one on one time along with quality hands on time with clients and fellow students. We pride ourselves in having instructors that are working estheticians that are committed to their own continuing education which provides them with the most current trends in the esthetic field.
We follow Montana State Board requirements for Esthetic Courses and Licensing along with the introduction and exploration of medical esthetics and business management.
Theory
Bacteriology, sanitation, sterilization, safety, anatomy, physiology, blood spill procedure, diseases and disorders of the skin, electricity, chemistry, color theory, waxing theory and hair removal, and light therapy.
Facial
Massage, skin care, makeup, (including the use of vaporizer, high frequency, massage brush, vacuum spray, galvanic unit and lamps,) cosmetics, facials, the application and maintenance of artificial eyelashes, tinting of eyelashes and eyebrows, the chemical curling of the eye lashes and skin exfoliation (including manual, chemical and mechanical exfoliation). Introduction to lash extensions & lash lifts.
Waxing
Includes the methodology of soft wax and hard wax. Areas include face, neck, hands, and superfluous hair anywhere on the body.
Business
Salon management, business methods, appointment book using Millennium Spa software, customer service, professional ethics and current state board laws and rules.

Continuing education break out sessions
At Montana Skin Academy, our primary educational focus is clinical esthetics. Although we do cover all services required by the state of Montana, we do break out some services for a more advanced, specialized training if that is an area of esthetics you'd like to focus on.

*Break out sessions vary upon our access to quality educators and class size. Must be currently enrolled in MSA or have a valid Montana State Esthetic or Cosmetology license. Course fees vary and are in addition to MSA tuition.
